I did a self install of a Viper 560XV into a '93 Camry. I finally got everything working (i thought) but the remote start quick cranking the vehicle. It tries, the starter tries but it doesn't start. I reset the tach and it starting working again. I drove the vehicle for a few minutes and the remote start quit working right. not. I reset the tach again and it starting working. Is this a common problem or do I have the "wrong" tach wire. I connected to the black wire at the igniter. Thanks.

OK, now the vehicle is cranking it just won't stay running very long. It stops and restarts again, keeps repeating this cycle.

Directechs website says black wire at coil, so it sounds like you are on the right wire. When you learned tach, was engine speed normal? If it learned tach at too high of engine speed, it may not realize that the motor is running. ------------- Keith

use tachless mode, very reliable on these model of cars.

Ok, the default tach setting was off. I moved the jumper to the on position and the remote start works fine. Thanks for the help.
