Hello,

I am putting a Crimestopper 2016FM alarm on a 2004 Chevy Impala. In addition, I will be using the GM-SL. This is my first install using the GM-SL. The majority of the connections are straight forward except the door connection. I notice on connector 1 it has a + door trigger input that has a - door trigger output on connetor 2. I am not sure who told me in the past, but I thought connector was mainly needed for Cadillac or if you was using the driver # 2 memory. The question I have is do I have to hook up door triggers as usual or does this module cover the door trigger. The install is tonight.

This bypass kit includes a negative (-) door trigger output which is read from the vehicles databus system. When any of the vehicles doors are opened (not including rear hatch or trunk) the bypass kit will latch a negative pulse for use by a remote starter or alarm. With this unified output there is no need to diode isolate each individual door.

Also, I didn't see any where that required a (+) door trigger input on connector #1 ? Did you mistaken the domelight (+) input for a door trigger input ?

Hello Jeff,

Maybe it is a misprint on the paper I have. The paper I have says + input for the gray/black wire and it says door trigger in for connector 2 white wire. I also spoke with Larry Peterson, crime stopper, and he said to connect the door trigger from the alarm directly to car. However, what I think you said sounds interesting. Just so I am clear, Did you say I could connect the white wire on connector two to the trigger wire on the alarm?

Do what Larry said. connector is for PK3 if the security lite stays on. but yes this will help for doors on Hoes and Burbans that have multi door triggers.

And Gray/BLK is a +door trigger(door trigg in for conn2 white wire. then use the white from conn2 to trigg the alarm.

With your car i would go rite to the door pin/lite
unless they are all on sep pins.
