i have a Viper 791xv alarm installed on my 99 lincoln navigator and my alarm goes off for no reason about less than an hour after arming it...any help??? what do i do? the sensor is turned all the way down. please help

what zone does it show triggered?

its usually the the hood or trunk. a friend of mine said it had something to do with the gem (generic electronic module).

the GEM module has to be bypassed on all 2001 and up ford vehicles.

actually that setup won't do anything for the false alarms. The alarm gets set off because the GEM sends a data signal through the doorpins when it shuts down. It is the data signal that causes the alarm to false. You'll need a relay to isolate the wires in the car from the triggers on the alarm. Wire your relay up like this
85 - +12V
86 - door trigger from vehicle
87 - ground
30 - negative door trigger to alarm.
The coil on the relay will not energize when the GEM shuts down, only when a door is opened. This should fix the false alarms. You'll just have to do this procedure on each individual trigger: doors and hatch, also the hoodpin if it is a factory hood pin.
