Hi guys, need a little help...Just bought a 06 pilot and also have a Karr alarm model # 2040a. The honda key has built in lock and unlock stuff for the doors and was just wondering if the Karr alarm can be installed so you could just use the honda key fob to arm and unarm the alarm. Any help would be great...thanks.

I'm not familiar with Karr product, but does it have its own remotes? If so, it will probably not work the way you want it to.

There are plenty of alarms on the market intended to be used with the factory remotes.

They DON'T receive radio transmissions from your Honda remote.
Rather, they typically are connected to the wires going to the power doorlock motors in the car----when the alarm "sees" the doors being locked, it arms; when it sees the driver's door being unlocked, it disarms.

Examples of such alarms would be the Audiovox Pursuit PRO-9232A, DEI Hornet 700T, and DEI Automate AM1.

The 2040 is ment to be used with the supplied KARR remotes, what you need is a KARR 4040, thats the one ment for the factory keyless systems

Karr Security is a Wham Bam Thank You Mam outfit and they put very little if any thought into the installations of their equipment.  They know good and well what SHOULD go into a vehicle when it is equipped with keyless entry.  Fact of the matter is, that their are a few extra wires to tag with the 4040 system and the installers are dreadfully taken advantage of by management so their incentive to spend the extra time installing what is supposed to be installed and installing well doesn't exist.

Go ahead and peek under your dash and see how it was installed...  it won't be pretty.
