Installing an Avital Remote Start system into a 2002 Infinti G20 with Factory Keyless entry...

how do I wire the Avital to activate the Remote Start with the factory remotes? I have already tested the remotes with the car running, they lock and unlock the doors, so that is not a problem...

any info would be greatly appreciated...

thanks...
Mario

Not sure of which Avital unit you have, but if the Avital has a Negative Input Start wire, you would need a NEGATIVE Pulse from your LOCK or UNLOCK wire in vehicle.  Some units are programmable for 2, 3, or 4 Pulses from the Door Lock / Unlock in vehicle.  If you don't have a NEGATIVE pulse from Door Lock / Unlock wire, then you would need a Relay to convert.

If it's the 4000, it has both positive and negative trigger wires.  So all you'd have to do is hook the positive trigger wire directly to the door lock motor.

just an update...i have everything wired up and hitting the Lock button 2x, the remote start activates and cranks the engine but will not start...

i am not sure if i tapped the correct wire at the ECM, i tapped a Blue wire, started the car, hit the Valet Button to learn Tach, seems like it did, however, the car will just keep cranking???

is this a problem with the positioning of the antenna loop from the 556U??? i have it over the ignition like it says...

You can see if it's the bypass mod by putting the key in the igntion, don't turn it on, and then remote start the car.  If it starts and runs then it's the bypass if it doesn't then try this.  Start the car with the key, then push the star button twice.  Wait a second.   Then take the key out of the ignition, if the car doesn't stay running then your ignition wiring is not correct somewhere.

also...regarding the Tach Wire...according to Wire Diagrams that i've seen, it is the Blue or Blue/Orange wire at the ECM...i did not see any Blue/Orange, however, there are 2 Blue wires...i tapped the first, started with key, and then hit the valet to learn Tach, LED never came on, tapped 2nd, started, hit valet to learn Tach, LED came on almost instantly...does that sounds like the right wire???

Yes if the led lights up then the tach wire is hooked up to a valid tach source.

got the car to start, was the 2nd starter wire...did not know that i needed to do anything with this..

problem now is that the Service Engine Soon light is on now...i beleive it is because i had disconnected the ECM harness from the ECM in order to have some more play in the wires to tap the TACH...

if i disconnect the Neg Battery Terminal for a few minutes, should that reset it? there is nothing wrong with the car...

YEah most cars disconnecting the battery for about 30min will reset the ecu and turn off the light.  The other option is to take it to an auto parts store.  MOst will scan the ecu for you for free.  just ask them to reset it.  If all else fails you could take it to the dealer but they'll more than likely charge you to clear the code.
