I am installing the 561T and GM-SL on a '04 Silverado. I haven't worked with any vehicles before that required one of these bypass modules, so I am a little new at it. If am using the factory remotes to operate the R/S, what wires do I need to (or don't need to) hook up these two units. For example, do I need to hook up door locks, park lights, or horn to either unit. Sorry about the basis questions. AC

Also, according to the vehicle wiring database, ignition 1 is pink when tested it showed 12V in the ignition position. When testing ignition 2, white, it showed 12V in the 1st key position (acc). When testing the accessory wire (orange) it showed 12V in the ignition position. Is this right or are the orange and white wire reversed? Thanks.

That's what I thought and that's what I will go with. Anyone have any input to my original question, if I need to hook up wires like park lights and horn if I am using the factory remote? Also, what door lock wire do I need to hook up to get a + or - pulse for using the factory remote?

If you are using a GM-SL the locks, and the parking and dome lights, disarming, the bypass, the heated seats, the rear defrost, the RAP are all controlled by it- why do you need anything else? look on the instruction sheat that come with it- for application guides and it tells how to hook it up and what it does....great device.......

brcidd, Thanks for the info. I have never installed one of these bypass modules. Could you or anyone else run me through which wire need to be hooked up from where. I know some of them are obvious, but some I am not sure like ground in and the outputs on connector 2. If someone could fill out the list below with where each wire goes that would be great. I have a feeling when someone does I am going to say "Duh" and feel really stupid. Thanks for everything and sorry for the dumb questions. Connector 1 Brown (-) In parking light Blue (-) In ground-in Purple Out data White (-) In unlock mem 1 Cyan (-) In Lock Gray/Black (+) In dome light BLACK/ White (-) In trunk Pink (+) In ignition Red (+) 12V batt Black (-) Ground Connector 2 BROWN / White not used Brown not used WHITE/ Black (-) In unlock mem 2 White (-) Out door trigger Pink/Black (+) Out ignition Pink (+) In ignition

connector 1 brown goes to negative parklights of the alarm system blue goes to (ground when running or, (-) stauts output from alarm or remote start brain) purple goes to the databus wire in the vehicle which is purple on the diagnostics connector white is (-) lock cyan is (-)unlock, both go to the negative trigger lock and unlock from the alarm remote start brain gray/black goes to the (+) domelight wire in the vehicle BLACK/ white you don't need pink, red and black are all self explanitory connector 2 the only thing you need is the white wire from this connector, it goes to the negative door trigger wire from the alarm remote start brain hope this helps

Thanks for your help and time. I do have another question. If I am using the factory remote, when programming the features, it says hit channel 1 or 2 on the remote depending on what setting I want. What is channel 1 and 2?

The wiring schematic above really helped, but I still don't understand a few wires. white and cyan are for lock and unlock. On the 561T there isn't a lock or unlock output. Also is the white wire out of connector 2 (neg. door trigger), I don't understand where that one goes on the 561T either. I don't see a door trigger from the brain. Please help.

Okay, wired up the units last night and everything seemed to work perfect by triggering the RS brain by touching the (-) activation wire twice to the ground. It started right up. I didn't hook up the wires to the lock and unlock from the GM-SL for two reasons. 1) I don't know what to plug them into on the RS brain. 2) I don't think I will need them since I am using the factory remotes. Unless someone tells me different I think I will leave them unhooked. I did answer my own question from earlier on how to change the settings by grounding the activation input wires. I think my last question is on the '04 Silverado Crew Cabs, what wire do I hook up to to get a (-) pulse when the lock button is depressed on the factory remote? Thanks for all your help, 05gt, and everyone else.

on the 561T there should be a 3 pin harness, with a blue and a green wire on it green is (-)lock and blue is (-)unlock on the GM-SL, cyan will go to the green wire and white will go to the blue wire
