passlock 2,wont start with key?

k,1998 seirra,installed the dei auto module and works great with the remote start.problem is the truck will not start with the key now.it wont even turn over.all the dash lights come on but the starter will not turn over.security light only stays on for a brief time then goes out like normal.its almost like the kill relay is still on.i bypass the relay and still nothing.

is this a passlock problem,remote start works great.with the key it wont even engage the starter.is this long tamper problem?

It doesn't sound like a Passlock problem. If it were, the starte would still engage, but the engine won't stay running. Check you starter wiring and any relays that you wired up for a starter kill.

i was unsure exactly what it did in long tamper mode,does it still do the same "almost start" thing just like when you cant get the passlock to work?this does nothing but works fine with the keypad.just to clerify,long tamper mode does actually kick the strarter over?

sparkie is right. in long tamper mode the security will lock every attempt out ....even the remote start. check your connections. starter wire/starter kill

Yes in long tamper mode, the engine will turn over, start running for about 2.5 seconds then stall out. Then the security light on the dash will be flashing rapidly. Best bet is disconnect the starter kill completely put the starter wire back together and try to start with key. If truck runs then the starterkill is wired improperly. Here's how should be wired (don't know if it would be the same if the relay has spike suppression)

85 - Ground when armed of alarm

86 - +12volt ignition

87a - Key side of starter wire

30 - motor side of starter wire.
