Hey guys, i will be starting a r/s install on a 2005 dodge durango soon and in looking at most paperwork on this truck, the factory alarm can only be disarmed with the factory remote. Does anyone know of a way to disarm this truck using the r/s remote, or is there a bypass module for this truck that will look after the oem alarm. Any advise or previous experience on this truck would be appreciated.

                       Thank-you in advance

have you tried to energize the key sense and pulse the main ign. with 12v?

Thanks for the reply, xscash. No i have not even started the install yet, but i was just doing some research on this particular vehicle and found out it looked like there might be a trick to getting the factory alarm to disarm. The info you suggested, is this from experience or did you find it somewhere listed. I will try it though, when i do the install.

      Thank-you again for the help

thanks for the reply another-kelly, does that mean if you apply 12 volts to the ignition and a negative to the key sense wire this should disarm the factory alarm

exactly. try this.......sit in the truck with the door open.turn the ign on then off.lock the door with the lock switch on the drivers door.shut the door. wait about 1 min. and open the door. if this truck has an alarm it will now sound.

now that you determined that there is actualy an alarm. repeat....except this time before you open the door...turn the key on then off and see if this overides the alarm.

in most cases the alarm will think because the door was never opened and the key(chiped key} was turned it was armed with the owner in it and will disarm.   remember. if this is the case..when you hook up the aftermarket alarm you will have to engage the keysense  pulse the ign and the {pass 4}or what ever key peice you are using.

The only problem with the 457c is...  IT FRIGGIN SUCKS!!!!  Most of the time at least one part of it will not work be it lock unlock arm disarm.  Whatever.  You're better off using relays and resistors for everything.  I speak from experience, I've tried no less than 20 of those things in about a dozen different cars and have not had one of them work properly all the time.
