Where can I find where to hook up for the neutral safety wire for a remote start on a 2001 Dodge Dakota? I need to hook up the BLACK/ white wire on an Avistart3300. The alarm portion is working fine. The diagnostics show there is a problem with the Neutral safety switch. Anyone know where this wire should go?

The info that I have doesnt show a Neutral saftey switch on this truck. I dont know if that means there isnt one or if that means that the oem switch opens the starter circuit. a 2000 dakota has one and it is BLACK/ white at the switch on the transmission. it needs a (-). Maybe someone else has run into this. Brian

Do what most everyone else does and just ground the BLACK/ white wire. Or connect it to ground through the little switch DEI includes so you can manually shut off the remote start when servicing the vehicle.

Thanks, that's what I ended up doing. Grounded the wire through a switch. It passsed the test anyway. Won't crank in gear.
