Has anyone installed an alarm on a 1988 toyota landcruiser diesel which runs on 24 volts?
Any info would be much appreciated.thanks.

Your going to need a reducer and some 24v relays

I'm not familiar with that vehicle, but if it has 2 batteries in series for 24v you could use one batt for your power source and 24v relays or resistors the same value as the relay coil wired in series with the relay to reduce 24 to 12. Are you sure the entire system is 24v?

I'm just going out on a limb. But i thought the radio, hvac stuff was all 12 volts?

The landcruiser's are complete 24v electrics a reducer will allow you to use the vehicles ground for pin switches etc

If i ran 12 volts from one battery and without a reducer,do i have to use 24 volt relays for each of the following;
ignition,park lights and so on?

Yeah you'll have to use 24v relays cause ig acc etc are still 24v so you'll have to change it all over to 12v for input to alarm its alot of work but if done properly will work fine
