Hi   I am planing to install a RS & have a bypass unit that the diagram calls for switched 12 volts ( hot through cranking) on a red wire, can anyone tell me what this means & where to hook up this wire     Thanks

It means that during the period you are starting the vehicle (actual cranking of the key) an ignition wire does not loose 12v and stays on until the key is turned off.  Some wires when checked during this period of cranking go dead then come back on.

Hi this is a 06 Mercury Milan  Would it hurt to have 12 volts on this wire at all times or should this be hooked to the ignition one wire that is hot only when the car is running   Thanks
