I have a 1990 k1500 gmc pickup and am trying to install that compustar 2wss into it but the remote start wont work. it sounds like it is trying to but it just makes a buzzing sound and doesnt crank the motor over. There is a yellow with a black strip wire from the relay that i have no idea where it goes to and i think that may be the problem thanks for the help in advance

You got it!

That is your starter kill relay. The yellow black has to be connected to the STARTER wire in your vehicle. If you don't want to install the starter kill, then just cut the relay out and just wire the Yellow starter wire from the Compustar unit onto the vehicle Starter wire.

Also does absolutely everything need to be hooked up ie door locks, brake switch, door triggers, before the unit will work?

Yes, this depends on the feature that you want to use otherwise it may not be nessary. "brake switch" Must.

"door triggers" if you want the alarm feature.

"door locks" if you want keyless entry.
