i just installed a Compustar with the CM3000 brain. i put it in tach sense mode and it will not learn the tach. i get 3 chirps and 3 parking light flashes. the manual says that i have the wrong tach wire. i measured this wire at the brain and it measures ~3VAC. when i give it gas, the voltage changes with the RPM. without this working correctly, i cannot put it into reservation mode.

i tried it in voltage sense mode and i can get it to go into reservation mode. when i try to remote start, it flashes the parking lights once which means that the engine is already on. i know the engine isn't on.

please help.

EDIT: i took the tach wire at the 2-pin test connector that is located on the driver's side engine bay near the firewall. there is only 1 wire to tap into and is a blue wire. do i have a bad brain?

The tach wire you need is a blue wire in a blue connector above the fuse box. It's a four cyl. reading

i'm not sure what the problem was but i unplugged the brain for several minutes, plugged it in, and the brain began reading the tach wire correctly. remote start works now. thanks guys.

I still like the blue behind the cluster. Easier in my opinion.
