hi installing alarm on vw polo 2001 model, does anyone have any info on any wires in the car, etc locking, lights

also do they still have the vacum type locking? thanks in advance

fairly handy to actually do really it depends on the model there are a couple of variations.

i'd be 90% sure its the last of the old model you have which is fairly straight forward you can get all your indicators live and ignition all coming down from the the colum, going out to the drivers door you should pick up your locking which should be positive pulse.

if by any chance its the newer model one its negative pulse which  you get  going out to the passanger door (its on both sides but more space there) its actually the same wire you just use a 1k resistor to operate it. as before the indicators ignition and live are safe to get at the colum!!

thanks for the reply dave, i think its the newer model i just got a call from a mate asking if i could do it so i aint seen the car, the ik resistor locking is that only in place on the lock side or is it on both lock and unlock

i think its on the lock side..you will see soon enough just put your test light to earth it will only operate one way through that and you just but 1k in on the other side which needs it to work
