Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can help:

Installed Commando EZ 2500 remote start. Problems are with the Passlock II bypass. Originally they sent me one of these dip-switch modules. Of course didn't work (as many people say about these modules). So, simply suspected faulty module. No big deal...bought recommended self-learning 555L. And still doesn't work!!!

Engine starts, and quits after 1-2 secs. Of course both lights: security and yellow wrench, are ON. When I start with the key (and 555l connected...) there are no lights whatsoever - everything fine (what would suggest that bypass wiring is O.K...!Right? :errr:). It just doesn't want to bypass this damn Passlock with 555L and remote start!

Right now I managed to use remote start, because started car with the key and then disconnected 555L module...but of course this is not good because now don't have ANY security...! The funny thing is running remote start like that every now and then I have a different configuaration on warning lights: sometimes both (security and yallow wrench) and sometimes only security and rarely no lights!.

Everything else with remote start seems to work fine: trunk, lights, door locks, dome light, horn.

I have disabled factory security feature before using remote start (programmable with key+door lock switch...).

Door locks are connected to remote start using sigle stage lock-unlock (all door...). There is of course feature to do dual stage, but the wires to the driver door lock motor (gray+tan) are in the bundle with wires to the speakers (gray+tan!!!!) so didn't want to remove the whole door panel and investigate which one goes where.

Can anybody tell me what can be wrong with this Passlock bypass???

Thank you! :D

ive found on saturns you must hook up the key sens wire so the car thinks the key is in. you could do this with the extra ign out neg. if you have  one. im not familiar with your alarm....so with out a pdf of the insall manual ..i cant really help. do you have a link to the manual?

Yeah, I have connected green key sense wire via relay to RS negative input, which teoretically gives me negative ground 5secs before rs starts and all the times during rs is ON. Before that I had connected this Ign 2 wire directly to that neg input (with same results) and after reading tons of different adds realized that everybody recommends a relay...

I have a printed diagrams, but how can I post it over here? posted_image

Install diagram for EZ-2500.

Connector H5, pin 2, yellow wire (ign 3 output -). Use this to trigger the relay.

Should fix the issue with the service light.

I found the problem!!!   posted_image

Everything was connected right, but..........looks like using a relay to groung the key sense wire is not enough. I was experimenting a little and found out that the ground wire (from the relay) actually has to be attached to the key lock (used one of the screws on the lock to anchor this wire). After that all security and service lights disappeared! And RS starts without any problems...

Before starting this topic I had grounded key sense wire to the car chassis. posted_image

Summary: Negative output from the RS (-200mA) relay pin 85
                    +12V power supply pin 86
Ground wire (from relay to the key lock) pin 87
Key sense wire (lt. green) pin 30

rob, ive done tons of these and it shouldnt matter where you got  the ground from....and ive never had to use a relay. dam ive even split this  ign3 wire with diodes and still no relay. sounds more like a connection problem.

anyway , glad to see you fixed itposted_image
