Does anyone out there have any info on the actual transmitter codes etc?  I teach electronics and understand the concept of a carrier wave but dont quite get the principal of exactly how they differentiate one from another.  I assume there is a binary code of highs and lows but dont quite get the length/time/spacing or do they pulse the carrier frequency or do they modulate the carrier frequency or...huh?

I am also wondering when you reprogram another transmitter to a unit, does the new code stay in memory forever or only until the battery goes flat again.  I just thought I'd ask before I added a new unit for the wife's  Prostart unit.

can't help you with the codes, but on most alarms, the remote code will remain in memory until deleted or bumped out by another programmed remote. Battery power or 12v main unit power should have no effect on programmed remotes. Also, most alarms only have room for 4 remote codes, once the 5th is programmed, the 1st gets bumped.

Really??.. thank you very much for the information!.. The info must be stored in an electrically erasable read only memory unit (EEPROM) to be able to do that!  The information is appreciated guys!

Thanks
