I installed a valet 561r remote start in my uncles 2006 Ford f-150 about a month ago.  He only wanted one key remote, so i hooked up the lock and unlock for the valet remote.  The problem is, the factory remote makes the horn honk when you lock/unlock the door, but the valet doesnt.  My uncle complains because he says he doesnt know when the car is locked/unlock because he cant hear it.  So I wanted to know if I can just tap the -horn into each lock wires or do I need a relay?  If I need a relay could someone provide me a diagram

you'll need a couple diodes.  you might need a relay to increase the ground strength if the horn/locks don't trigger properly.  If you do here's the wiring 85 goes to the wire from the diodes.  86 to constant +12 87 to ground and 30 to the horn wire in the truck.

cut the wires from your aftermarket  remotestarter. and add the diodes as directed. and run the horn wire to the horn wire under dash.  this is a good diagram...pretty straight forward

good luck,   XS

1- can you upload the manual?

2- The valet doesn't have a siren or horn output?

the diodes are needed to prevent the doors from locking/unlocking whenever you hit the horn.  That or the horn honking everytime you use the switch inside the vehicle to lock/unlock the doors

Yeah i was thinking, cant I use the factory arm and disarm wires on valet?  Run arm wire to horn with a diode, and disarm to horn with diiode.

You could do that too.  The only is thing is when you r/s the vehicle the horn will chirp and when the r/s shuts down the horn will chirp as well.
