Hello everyone. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade, soon after purchase, I got the Python 700 installed in it, included with a Dual Zone Shock Sensor, which seems to be pretty common.
Anyway, I would like to add the motion sensor, one reason is that if someone were to scratch it, or something along those lines, the shock sensor (even at full sensitivity) wouldnt pick it up. Example (being a Jeep I take it off roading, and when I get back to my college campus, people think it is sweet to write in the mud with their fingers, twice so far, on the hood)
Long story short, I would like to add the motion sensor, and have found a lot of information on this forum about how to do that, but my next question is how would I hook up external lights such as strobes, backup lights, or lights from my roof rack to light up, flashing or constant (preferably flashing) when the alarm full blast goes off...
Thanks everyone for your help.

Since you are using a DEI Prox sensor and a DEI alarm you can either unplug the shock sensor and plug in the 508D or you can hook up both by tapping into the wires of the shock sensor. (I believe that you need to use diodes to prevent backfeeding) As for adding the strobe light, there is one of two ways you can do it, tap on to the siren output or parking light out put going into a relay to power the strobe light......problem with this it that the strobe light will flash each time you arm/disarm the alarm. The second way would be to hook into the 508D/shock sensor. When one of these units are triggered, it sends a pulse back to the alarm causing it to trigger, you could tap into that wire (I think it would be the blue one) then each time the Prox sensor is triggered it would cause the strobe lights to be turned on. Make sure that you use diodes and relays so that you don't end up back feeding into other sensors causing them not to work properly.
It will definately draw attention to the vehicle, but you may find that people will mess with your Jeep b/c of the fact it will flash the bright lights. And it may piss off your neighbors
Update-
I recieved the 508D in the mail and am going to install it myself, but I had a professional install the alarm, what is a common place to put the brain of the alarm? I can not seem to find it so I can splice into it...
Thanks
