I am fairly new at installing so please bear with me. I am putting a compustar 2wss-s remote start unit in 04 GMC Sierra. I made all of my remote start wires according to 2 different sets of wiring diagrams. All connections were soldered. When remote start is activated the car cranks, fires once and dies immediatly. I have tried starting with key in ignition, that didn't work. Remote start takover and truck stays running. My other issue is with the door locks, I know I need a module that will make them work but I don't know what I need or where to get it. Any help would be great I am kinda stuck right now.

You need to bypass the factory anti-theft system called passlock. This truck uses a resistance based data system. The bypass module that is listed here suggests DEI's 457GW module. This module is very effective and does more than just bypass the passlock system, but also allows for door lock control via the vehicle's data bus. There is also this module as an alternative. Doing a websearch on either piece would produce a fair list of options for purchase. You could also stop by your local install shop or big box store and I am sure they would have one they would be willing to sell.

Good Luck.

Thank you, I ordered the 457GW. Will that also solve the no-start issue or was that just for the door locks?

Can anyone tell me if bypassing passlock is just for the door locks or if that will also solve the no-start problem I am having?

The passlock system is your factory anti-theft device, it does nothing for the door locks. The 457GW is an "all-in-one" solution for your truck. If you read the installation manual you will see all it does. Yes, it can solve your doorlock and no-start issues.

I also would of recommended the GM-SL for the bypass and controlling the doorlocks, I have used both and I find the GM-SL works everytime, just my opinion
