I just installed a Viper 791xv on a 2002 Chevy Tahoe using the 555L (passlock II bypass module), and after remote starting the truck the "service engine soon" light came on, and I don't remember this light being on before, so does any one know if the alarm can cause this? If so how can I fix it?

Thank you very much. Any help is really appretiated.

Sounds like you didn't hookup up the second ignition output from the 791xv to your truck.

I agree with Raymond4646. You need to check this asap. If your truck has a automatic trans. this can cause damage to it.

There is a white wire, which they are referring to, you need to hook up.

Is that the only thing that can cause it, cause I sure I connected both Ignition wires, unless the second one came off.

Im sure its not the only thing possible. From your discription it sure sounds like it. Anyway its not hard to pull that panel and check. Maybe 2min.

Isn't IGN #3 brown? I didnt see it on this websites vehicle info list.

Make sure you get all 3 IGN wires and ACC.

It think some people here tell you that you don't need them all but the one time I followed the advise on a silverado the A/c controls didn't turn on. So a/c was off the hole warm up time.

Do all your guages work? Maybe you yanks on a BCM connecter accident and loosened it up?

You need to connect pink as ign., white as 2nd ign., orange as acc., and brown as 2nd acc.

How could it "come off " what type of connection did you make? Please tell me you didn't use a t-tap...solder these ignition connections, they matter a great deal. Take the time.... Plus a year down the road you will have no worries or doubts about them.

Thank you all for your help. After leaving the truck off for a while, when turning it back on the light didn't come back on, But I'll still check the wires you told me about to make sure they are the ones I connected. Thanks a lot to everyone.
