I am trying to do a RS in a 2006 Dodge Ram Night Runner edition. Does anyone know if it's the same wiring as the standard 06 dodge ram? Do you know what bypass i need. I have everything hooked up so far, without a bypass, and it seems right, but here's the problem. I engage the rs, and accessory comes on, and the starter just ticks a couple times. Even without the bypass it should still try to start right? The RS is a Clifford Matrix RS. Thanks for any help.

Try it with the key in the ignition switch, but in the off pos.,if it starts, all is good.

Did you power up the 2nd Starter wire with a relay & resistor to ground ? Sounds like this is the problem along with the Sentry is not being bypassed also. For the ACC, did you use a relay along with a resistor inline to ground for it ?

Here is a link to a diagram for the second starter/second accessory wire. You will need a Sentry bypass module of some sort whether it be a key in a box or an add on. I started another post referencing a module that may be able to do this and door locks/arm/disarm and other things.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. The only problem now is, im using the clifford matrix RS unit, it doesn't have the purple negative start wire from the RS unit.

Use the purple on the ribbon cable between the brain and the external relay pack for your starter negative trigger.

You would still hook up the first starter wire using the heavier gauge wire on the out side of the relay pack. On the in side of the external relay pack their is a ribbon cable. The purple wire in this ribbon cable is a negative output only when the remote start is energizing the starter wire. This is the "purple negative start wire" referred to in the diagram.

Ah, ok, thanks twelvoltz. Now with this currently now hooked up, do you think it's why the starter when the RS is activated, ticks about 3 times, and never turns over.

I am not sure if that is your problem or not, however the vehicle needs to see a specific resistance on that wire for starting and a different resistance on the same wire for accessory turn on. I would have to think this is where your problem lies.

Keep us posted.
