Subject: Alarm will not arm

I have a Hornet 727T installed on my 2006 Grand Marquis..It had been working fine but now it will not arm automatically or actively. This problem surfaced from one minute to the next. I didn't think it was a fuse because the doors lock and unlock when I start the car and turn the igniton off like it always did...It will also go into and out of valet mode. I checked the fuse any way and it was fine.As i mentioned before ,I try to arm it actively and it still will not arm..Has the brain on the system gone south on me? Any ideas would be appreciated...

try unpluging the brain and pluging it back in.  it may reset it.

as much as i love dei, i have found many problems with thier brains.  if unplugging it works but the same problem returns, replace the brain!

Thanks for the quick replies.....I took out the fuse in the brain to test it and it was fine,,Isn't that the same as unplugging it and then plugging it back in or is the system getting power from another wire?  Thanks again.

I completely unplugged the harness that has the constant power source on it and plugged it back in...No dice...Still won't work..I ordered another brain..If this one fails me I'll try another brand of alarm..I have a question while I am on this subject..Does any one know of a way to switch the default settings on the brain without using a bit writer..I know that it comes set for active arming and I want to change it to passive arming...

There are programming options listed in the installation manual starting on page 28. This would allow you to change some settings including passive arming options.

I sure do appreciate that info..It pays to read the entire insrtuction manual.....I was under the impression that I needed the bit writer and was willing to pay someone to program it for me in order to have it arm passively....Thanks again

I bought a new brain but now I have a dilemna..I was installing it and i  didn't read the instructions fast  enough and here is my problem. I programed it to see the lock function on my remote which arms the system and I wasn't fast enough to program the disarm function which disarms the system..Now I can't program the disarm function since the system has to be inactive to do any type of programming hence when I try to program the unlock and disarm function it just goes into alarm..I tried unplugging the sytem from the power altogether to see if it would reset to default but have had no luck.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
