Hey guys. As you can see I'm a noob to this site and also car electronics. I'm installing a remote start/alarm on my 97 park ave ultra Ive done a fair amount of research and cant answer some of my questions. I would GREATLY appreciate if someone could answer some questions for me!
i bought a passkey3 bypass module and am not sure how to hook up the antenna. wrap the wire around the ignition alot or just wrap once?
some harnesses on the car has a clip on it that goes in the harness and looks like it is for another wire to fit in the same slot and hold it in place, can i do that or will i have to solder in line?
my aux2 option puts out 500ma for 30s is this enough current to switch a relay to make my windows go down?
this site has been a huge help so far, the diagram that i got from here was more accurate and has more info than the one i got from the starter/alarm site! any advice that would help someone as green as me to get the job done without messing it up to bad as i say again is greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.

The bypass should have a recommendation for how many times it should be wrapped around, but most I have seen come as a premade loop with several strands of wire in that loop requiring only one 'wrap around'. Most of the time you just have to find the sweet spot and fix it in place. I use a dab or two of hot glue to hold the ring in place, but others just zip tie it.
I recommend soldering all connections for long term reliability.
If the output is a programmable output that you can select the exact amount of time it is activated for, then yes you could make your windows roll down. However most systems I know of have only a selectable output, typically having pulsed, latched, or specific time as options. If it takes 10 seconds for your windows to roll up and you have the unit providing power to the motor for 30 seconds, you will burn out the motors or pop fuses or worse. I would look into a rollup module like the 530T from DEI.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

If you have the transponder by-pass which has just a loop wire wire for the antenna. You must wrap this around the ignition tumbler antenna ring 3 to 5 times. If you do it just one turn you will get intermittent operation.

Thanks for the tip ogrady. I was expecting to see a regular ignition tumbler but when i opened up the coloumn there was a antenna/module around the ignition that said passkey3 on it. I wraped the antenna wire around this once. I put power to the bypass module and used a spare flat key with no resistor in it, that only opens the doors and won't start the car. it started the car so i secured the wire in place. I've never seen this before so if anyone else has please let me know if this will work in the long run. I'm will be finishing up today and will check back later most likely with some trouble shooting questions. Thanks for the help.

Well 18 hrs in 2 days later the starter/alarm is in and working....most of it.
The trunk release isn't working. Think its because I had a brain fart and hooked it up to the switch in the trunk lid instead of the one in the dash. Yeah I know FNG.
Also when I arm the system and unlock the doors through the window and open it the alarm doesnt go off. There was 3 light green wires on the door module i had to choose from. Even though i thought i had a good reading on the dmm i think i chose the wrong one. If someone could confirm this or know something else that could be wrong please let me know. I'm happy with the result for a first try at installing one of these. I guess when u get good at it, it can be done in a few hours looks like i got a long way to go. Thanks in advanve for any help that u can give me on these problems.
