Hey guys I have a set of JDM Power Folding Mirrors on a 95 Honda Civic Coupe and I would like to hook them up to my alarm so that when I arm it they will fold and when I disarm it they will unfold. I have the OEM relay for them and the OEM switch. I have a Viper 600 esp but am soon to replace it with a Viper 1000. I would also like to to be able to fold them with the switch if I had to.

Thanks

So I take it this will not be possible?

Don't assume anything, it will only lead to disappointment.

BTW, I just moved this topic to the General Discussion forum.

Thanks I was thinking about posting it there but did not want to double post a thread here!

Anything is possible given the right parts and enough time.  Do you have any diargrams or anything for the switch or the mirrors?  Have done what you're talking about with jdm mirrors on galants. It all depends on how the folding is controlled.

This is the diagram I got for the mirror so I can wire them up

That viper alarm should a have a 'ground when armed' wire. The diagram you posted shows nothing of what those wires do, so I cant tell you what to hook up where. If you know something about relays i'd set it up l;ike this:
85- ground when armed wire from alarm
86- +B
30- +B
87a- to the wire on your mirror module that keeps them open
87- to the wire on your mirror module that closes them
jea...as for that switch for you to manually open and close them, just diode isolate a switch to 85 on the relay for ground so you dont backfeed through the alarm =]

OK I know that the GREEN/ YELLOW wires from the mirrors to the relay make them close and the blue/red wires make them open.

I know very little about relays and If I get a diagram I can hook things up I just dont completely get the theory with them but I am learning so please don't fault me.

I Hope this helps so that some one can help me.posted_image

See the problem here is your diagram doesnt list whether the mirror triggers are negative or positive and with out that info I cant tell you how to do the relays. So what I need you to do is test the GREEN/ YELLOW and blue/red wires and find out if they need a positive trigger or a negative trigger to work. Please post back findings and I can make the diagram

Have you tried the SEARCH feature to see if you could possible learn something from past threads ??

Jeff I have gone thru that search before I posted this thread and most of the links and pic in the threads are dead and I have not seen one of them give answer completely most of the time someone gave up and did it some other way.

What I did learn from them is that on one side its negative when folding in and positive on the other side when folding in and vise versa when folding out. So this still puts me in square one lost and confused.

I used the flip flop relay diagram with the JDM mirrors that I use to have on my Integra. Search through the old threads and use the flip /flop relay configuration that I had and it will work. The only problem is that you will need two separate triggers to activate the relays.

can you get a detailed diagram? that diagram doesnt say much.

however, this is what ive came to conclude:

those two wires you mentioned isnt the wire youre looking for because it goes straight to the mirrors. the alarm has to go through a high current relay to activate the mirrors. the wire you need to test is the #3 on the relay.

btw, you mentioned that the wires have +/- when open close, i believe the motor has reverse polarity.

Also test these wires on one of the motor:
C-
D-
E-

lmk what its doin when the system is powered and also active.

Wires C,D,and E are the normal wires for the mirror they are the ones that make the glass go up down left and right.

On the jdm mirror they are just 2 extra wires as opposed to the usdm ones those 2 wires are for the power folding function

wire A from the left mirror is positive and hooks up to wire B from the right mirror and the B wire on the left mirror is negative and hooks up to the wire A on the fet mirror. I know that wire A on the left mirror is positive and wire B on the left mirror is negative its the same on the right side mirror

wire 3 on the relay goes to the switch and is the one that causes the fold and unfold number 2 is positive and 4 is the negative which end up being the positive and negatives on the mirrors

I dont know if this helps but I am tryin as much as I can

Thanks

if thats teh case, lets take it to another approach. use those two wires(1&5) and wire up like a normal 2-wire actuator. thats teh simpliest route w/o having to go through testing and diagrams. then tie the relay to the lock/unlock for it to fold/unfold.
