viper 791, 2001 integra gsr, remote start

i recently installed the viper 791.  everything works fine except the remote start.  i was told the remote start and the factory alarm in my 2001 acura integra 2dr gsr conflicted.  therefore i have to disarm the alarm then apply the remote start and hold the arming button for 2 seconds to activate it.  if i try the remote start while the alarm is armed, the door will unlock and the engine wont crank. any ideas will help, thank you.  Jimmy

According to DEI's techsheet the factory alarm arms and disarms only with the factory transmitter.

I am not sure what you are asking here so let's try this.

The 791 (just like most if not all DEI) requires 2 pushes of the * button to activate remote start(or pressing lock and unlock at the same time to activate timed starting mode). Since the factory alarm is only controllable via the factory remote, just make sure you have disarmed the factory alarm and put the transmitter away, just using the Viper transmitter.

That doesn't sound like the OEM alarm to me. If it were the alarm, when you attempt to start the horn will honk and the lights will flash. What bypass module did you use for the Integra ? Also, it's a GS-R so did you bypass the clutch properly ? It's a (-) trigger type system for the clutch so the clutch wire requires a (-) pulse when cranking.

DEI units sold in the US are NOT for manual transmissions, they do not have the proper safety features for use in this application.

so even with the clutch bypassed, is there a way i can use the remote start while the alarm is armed? Right now i am still disarming the alarm, remote start the car, the door now locks but the alarm doesnt arm, then holding the lock button for 2 seconds to arm it. every thing else works perfectly fine.

Hey everyone, this is the installer that did the remote start in this car. What's happening is somehow, the 791xv will not remote start when the system is armed. Like Jimmy said, it will turn the ignition and accessories on, but it won't crank, it just locks the doors. As you all know, the clutch uses two seperate wires to allow the vehicle to start. It is all done through one relay by breaking the first connection, and grounding the second. The wires that activate the relay are ignition +12 and ground coming from the ignition 3 output from the remote start relay module. I know, however, that the clutch bypass is not the problem because I can sit in the car with it armed, manually hold the clutch, and it still will not remote start. The E-brake wire that he mentioned is simply connected to the neutral safety switch input. This, of course is not the problem either, because if that were the problem it would not turn the ignition and accessories on. I know the starter kill relay on the alarm is not the problem, because I didn't use it. I simply connected the purple starter wire to the starter circuit. I used the 556u to bypass the key. It is connected using constant +12, ground, and the status output from the remote start relay module. If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.
