I haven't had the opportunity to look for a factory neutral-switch wire in a car yet, but this is what I've been told is a quick test:

1. Drive the car fast enough to use the cruise control. Find a stretch that is long, straight, and level.

2. Rolling along with the cruise on, on level ground, gently push the gearshift into neutral, without touching the clutch or brake.

3. If the cruise immediately cancels, there's got to be a neutral switch somewhere.

If the engine starts to rev up, and the cruise only cancels when the engine over-revs, there is probably not a neutral switch.

All those "retarded" steps sure do keep the car from running over one of your own kids though......

I dunno, ebrake, key off, exit, shut down. 3 of these things you are doing already when you leave the car....... what's one more button press???

Ditto Gus !!

This thread is done !

No need to help someone bypass a manual vehicle with an automatic RS unit
