Looking for some information on how to install a remote starter on my 2000 Ford Focus. I took the AUTO START system from my 1999 F-150 and it had a little dot in the key that the installer had to read. He then installed a module under the dash to bypass this antitheft feature. I took that out with the remote system. I have wired the remote starter into my Focus 2000.
Now I need to know how to hook up this bypass module and program it to the key. There is a #1 stamped on the Ford Focus key but I don't see a little dot to get a resistance reading from. A buddy of mine is going to bring over a special tool that we have used on the GM's but I don't know if this will work on this late model of a vehicle ??? HELP

The Ford uses a PATS II system. Use this diagram to bypass the anti theft:

The Focus and F150 use different version of the PATS system. A DEI 555S module will temporarily bypass the factory antitheft system. You can also use a spare key and the diagram Jeff listed, but make sure you get a 3rd key made before sacrifing your 2nd key. It will cost a lot more to have a key made if you don't have 2 working copies. Programing of the 3rd key can be done in the vehicle if you have two other copies. If only one working key is available, additional keys must be programmed by a dealer.
