Just I few questions if someone thats done this car and chime in. Never done 2000 accord ex

Factory Disarm - Using a Compustar 2wSS. Has its own alarm, so that factory will not be used. Once doors are locked via the compustar will this arm the factory alarm? Do I need to connect the factory disarm wire from the unit to the disarm wire located in the drivers door?

Starter kill/Anti Grind - two different wiring diagram, both say relay will cause Check Engine light. One says install between fuse box and key cylinder, other says between fusebox and starter. Where does it go?

Any other tips for this car?

Thanks

I believe this car will arm the factory alarm if you lock it with the door open, you would have to interface the factory disarm wire to prevent the factory alarm from sounding when unlocking/opening with the aftermarket remote.

Directechs says "If doing starter kill, must interrupt the wire between the keyswitch and the fusebox, not between the fusebox and the starter, to keep the check engine light from coming on."

They have never let me down.

Good Luck, Keep us posted.

regarding the factory disarm,  you will have to go into the door to access it(blue wire I believe)  You can not get around this issue without causing the factory alarm to go off when you remote start or sometimes open the doors.  Wire between the keyswitch and the fusebox as twelvevoltz said and you should come out fine.

Ok. Got everything working today but I have one problem im sure that can be sloved with isolation.

For the factory alarm, I just used the unlock, start, lock option on the compustar. Unlocks it, turns factory alarm off, starts it, re-arms compustar and factory.

Now on to the problem I have. To do dome supervision you have to tap the door trigger wire, which I did. The problem I have is that if you unlock/unarm, dome light kicks on. Now if you try to re-arm before the dome supervision has kicked off you get a door ajar on the remote showing the door is open. If I wait till the dome light is off, and then arm its fine. Do i just need to isolate these 2 wires? both are (-). How would I go about that? Or can I turn on domelight re-arm option on and have that situation sloved?

Thanks

Thanks

If your Compustar system has the upgraded software you should have a domelight delay option on there.

Delayed door trigger option for locking.Option 1-12
Some vehicles have a delayed dome light that will make the system think that the door is still open when sending a lock command to the vehicle. With this option turned on, the system will ignore the door trigger for 90 seconds. After 90 seconds, if the door trigger is still active, the system will flash the park lights and page the remote, if it is a 2-way system.

How can I tell if its the upgraded software? Someone brought me the unit and I installed it. Do you have a link or can you tell me how to try to program that option? Is it like the standard way. Hold I & II for 2 sec, within 2 sec press IV for 12 chrips, wait for 12 chrips again, and then if its optional press II?

Are the upgrade software ones the units that are now automatic and manual specific? If so, it was a new software unit because on it, it stated automatic

Thank Jeff
