Is there an easier spot to grab the 2 door trigger wires on a 2001 ranger besides at the GEM module which is a pain to access the wires in order to diode isolate them? DEI has a photo of a harness which looks like its behind some black rubber matting and much easier to work with besides the harness that plugs into the GEM module that you can barely access let alone get your hands in their to cut wires and diode isolate, but they arent really specific to that location of the harness they are showing in the photo?

judging by the welds in the chasis and thick foam if i remember right try a harness below radio right of gas pedal near floor along transmission hump newer rangers are in pass kick try that also

I had the same problem on my Ranger and I kind of cheated. I ran a wire to the dome light. I had probed various wires and didnt have much luck. No need to isolate it because it comes on with either door. Just test the contacts and run your trigger wire to that.
