hello,      kind of a long explaination but i really appriciate anyone who can help 

( alarm was sent back to be fixed and they told me there was nothing wrong with it )

i have had a problem for quit sometime now but i think i figured it out i need a bit of help please.

i have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe v8.  there is a AutoPage rs-850lcd installed in it.

i need to know what color wire in the truck connects to the following 6 wires PLEASE  .

there is a 6pin plug on the autopage it is the main plug with the power wires.

1 Violet wire ---- Starter Output

2 RED wires -----  w/20amp fuses manual says they goto + 12volts high current source but if there is 2 seperate 12v feeds to the ignition switch then one RED wire should should be connected to each feed at the switch.

1 YELLOW wire ----- ignition wire from ignition switch

1 PINK wire ----- Ignition 2 Output

1 BROWN wire ----- Accessory Output ( Heater / ACC Output )

here is my problem: this is connected already but i think it is wrong. when it is pluged into the alarm brain my 40amp IGNITION fuse under the hood has power on both sides of the terminal ( while the fuse is out ) something is causing feedback. and it kill my battery

i think it is 1 of the red wires because 1 of the red wires  is connected to to a soild red wire in the column. this wire has constant power but when i pull that 40amp fuse from under the hood out then the red wire has no power.  when i disconnect the 6 pin plug from the alarm then there is only power on one side of the fuse like there should be.

the other red wire is conected to a really thick red with white stripe wire. this is constant with that fuse under the hood, but goes out the second it is removed.

sorry this so long but i tried to explain it the best i can....please try to help me....i haven't been ale to drive my truck since october  :(

Conect both of your red supply wires for your alarm to the red wire on the Ign. harness. OR go to the battery if your not sure.

Secondly....test all of the output wires from the unit to make sure there is NO voltage....if there is, the unit IS bad! (yellow,pink,brown,and violet)

This would drain your battery, and IS dangerous.

12volts

Starter yellow  +  ignition harness   
Second Starter N/A       
Ignition pink  +  ignition harness   
Second Ignition white  +  ignition harness  
Third Ignition N/A       
Accessory orange  +  ignition harness

 I would'nt connect the two power wires to a single wire in the ignition harness. They put fuses on those wires for a reason. Hooking up two 14 ga wires to a single wire is not the right way to do it. That is just my opinion. But definetly check the unit for backfeeding voltage...

If you have any outboard relays hooked up with the Autopage unit the way they are wired may be the problem. If you are using a ground out when running output wire from the Autopage and it is hooked to two or more modules or relays you can get a feedback problem. The ground out when running wire is designed to activate bypass modules or other items only during the remote start cycle. If you split this wire into two or more circuits to supply them with a ground, then you must diode isolate them. Install diodes inline on each branch of the ground out when running wire with the band on the diode facing the remote starter. If this is not done, a small 12 volt current will be applied to another circuit which may not be a battery one. The problem happens when one module is hooked to a battery source for it's power and the other is powered by an ignition source. Unplug all relays and modules to see if the back feed problem goes away.

hello, guys, i haven't had a chance to try anything new yet, it rained yesterday and looks like rain again today, hopefully tommorrow i can do something.

as for the relays i did check them i unpluged each one and i still had the problem, i did notice that one of the relays does have a diode jumped between 2 of the pins.

i appriciate all of your help and in the meantime if u guys have more suggestions or think of what else may cause this problem...... please keep posting them.

i will keep everyone updated as soon as it stops raining and  i have a chance to work on the truck.

i messed with the truck today.....quick question...for the acc wire from the alarm is it ok if i connect it to the acc 2 wire of the truck.

the acc 1 wire of the truck was showing .009v while the truck was off.

besides that i ran a new wire like KarTuneMan said above, to see if my problem would go away straight from the battery to the 2 power lines of the alarm and it did. there is no power on both sides of the fuse now.

i am going to buy a 8 gauge wire and run that instead....do u giys think i should be ok after that?

i appriciate all the time and help everyone has pitched

The entire truck (minus starter, and elec fans) is powered by the 1 constant going to the IGN (30 amp fuse). The 2 alarm wires are for vehicles ( not GM) that send power up to the IGN with 2 seperate wires. Autopage figured theres a reason the car maker did it with 2 wires so they conform. With them connected at the same point they share the load, piggy backed a part of the wire carries all the load.

FYI: I've hooked up several 750 and 850 series in this manner without issue. On one install I let the GM truck run 10 minutes with A/c on full, checked the wires and connections with an IR temp gun and didn't see any difference in temp (resistance generates heat).

Lets see if one of the relays is sticking open, take your meter and test continuity on alarms outputs for the rs. Connect 1 lead to on of the red inputs and touch the other lead to all the other pins. It should beep only on the other power input. Then repeat for the other input.

hi guys,

my battery is still being drained :(

i think it may be the ignition switch. my friend told me to sit in the car and shut it off, after like 30 seconds my gas , oil and voltage gauges all move up.  if i stick the key in the ignition they go down but within seconds go right back up.

does this sound like the ignition switch, any ideas ? can this be what is killing my battery?
