I have purchased a Factory Remote Keyless entry from GM for a 2000 Impala.  Can anyone tell me where the receiver installs?

I have also seen information about programming these units but not for the 2000 Impala.

Please Help!

Thanks

I thought that keyless was standard eqiupment on those. All you would have to do is program the remotes. Personally, I would have bought an aftermarket unit. Much cheaper.

Not sure where it would get installed.

If it's supposed to mount in any one specific place, the instructions will probably say so----but you should be able to secure it just about anyplace with zip ties, as long as it doesn't interfere with the pedals or steering shaft.

Most likely, though, it's just a generic aftermarket keyless entry unit rebadged with the GM name--you'll probably still have to identify, test, and splice all the wires, just like any other install.  I know that Ford keyless/alarm/remote starters are just rebadged Code-Alarms, for example.
