Hi, Ive fitted a alarm with remote centrol locking and im having problems finishing off the intall.

when i dis-arm the alarm sytem it auto re-arms within 15 seconds unless you open the doors but i havent been able to fit the door/light trigger without alarm sounding.

If i dis-arm the alarm with the (-) doorswitch wire attached it goes off when opened or closed same with the (+). and if i wirer it to the interior light (comes on when any doors opened) it goes off when ever the light comes even when alarms dis-armed.. all ive got working is the central locking by keyfob, but keeps re-arming after 15 seconds which is a pain when driving.

please any advice will be a big help.

ive tryed conecting both the (-) door switch wire and (+) door switch wire to the light and the single button door trigger on drivers door..  car is a ford sierra sapphire 2.0i DOHC UK car

regards and thanks for reading

Does this Alarm have Ignition wire?
Are you sure you are actually Dis Arming  the Unit with the remote?

Hi,

yeas it has got a ignition wire/ACC so guess this is what you mean, and i havent wired it in yet.

Im sure its dis-arming because the indicators flash 3 times, the central locking opens and the led stops flashing. But after 15 seconds it shuts the central locking and led starts flashing again.

also has 2 wires (-) door switch wire and (+) door switch wire which im sures used to let alarm know ive open the doors after being disabled, cant see how i wire one or two of them in. I have 4 door triggers and the interiour light only come on with the front two.

"a connection to the door switches (and dome light) needed to be made, which is used to check if a door has been opened less than a 15sec after disengaging the locks (if it hasn't, the doors are locked again and the alarm re-engaged"

thanks for reading and all help still need, im proper poor with electrics.

regards

Hook up the door triggers and ignition wire and your problem should be solved.

Most of the people here are from the US or Canada so we won't have any experience with your vehicle. That might be why we are lacking in suggestions.

You only need to hook up the (-) or (+) door trigger wire. Don't use both.

You will probably find a (+) door pin wire at a domelight. You may need to add pinswitches for the rear doors if you want those to trigger the alarm.

i thought the ignition wire was for when or if i decide to install the immobliser and coil relay ect.

ive tryed adding the (+) and the (-) minus to straight to the interior curticy light and car still re-arms. I have one thin wire 2 the door pin and can remove this when door is open connect the (+) and the (-)  indicators flash when alarm dis-arm re-arm or if door is opened and closed.

so is this because i have connected the ACC wire then?

i have no idea how electric work and to old to learn much its a mirical i got the central locking to work with the indicator flash, but it useless if the alarm re-arms after 15 secs.

thanks for helping people.

The alarm needs to see igniton to know that the car is running.  This way it cannot be armed when you're driving.  As for automatically re-arming, this is probably something that can be changed in the programming.  What it's doing is passive arming, you want active arming, meaning it won't arm until you press arm on the remote.  Hope this helps.
