Viper 791XV & 2005 Pathfinder

I'm trying to wire the 2nd starter using the small guage purple wire coming from the XCRS and a relay to supply +12 to the 2nd starter circuit during remote start.  I don't want to just solder it to the motor side starter wire.

Question is...I'm not sure how to wire the relay from the small purple wire.  I know it shows constant +12 except for when starting, then it drops to zero. Do I use a Negative Input-Postive Output as shown in this diagram?

All other functions of alarm work perfectly and I live in Hawaii where it never gets below 65F but...anything worth doing is worth doing right!

Thanks --- J-Dub

Yes, you would use that part of the diagram.

Also...not sure why but if I ground that wire with the ignition on, it starts the car.  Is that normall?

One more thing.  Using the Negative Input - Positive Output would send +12 back through the small purple wire to the XCRS. Is that OK?

The car starting with the key on when grounding that wire is normal. That wire provides a ground to a relay in the pack that powers the starter wire, if you ground it, it will crank the starter, and if the key is on, it will start.

That diagram would not send +12V through the small purple. The small purple is a negative trigger to activate the relay to supply +12V during the start sequence. It will not see +12V at all if wired correctly.
