i just installled a cheap power door lock kit(audiovox). dont wanna work. i wired it the way the seller told me to. connect the green and blue wires to the actuators. cut the end of the 3 pin connector off. red goes to 12 volt positive, green and blue goes to switch. ground the switch. no remotes or alarms , just door lock with switch. i did hook up just one actuator and tried it out. didnt work. all i got was click click click kinda of a noise when i pressed the switch. then i wired the other actuator , same thing.  did the actuators go out on me?  lets do this..

Year, Make & Model of Vehicle would be nice??
Did it have Power Door Locks before?
How did you mount the Actuators?
There has to be some Travel from Lock to Unlock and at Neutral Position.

i dont know too much about this stuff... vehicle is 2004 toyota tacoma 2wd, did not have power door locks. not sure what u mean ,but  i mounted the actuators with the rod thing i guess. travel from lock to unlock  and at neutral position, dont know what that means bro.

When you mount the Actuator & Hook up the Rod to the Door Lock.......You need a certan amount of "Travel" ( distance it takes the Actuator to Lock or Unlock )
Lets say the Door is in Unlock & the Actuator Plunger is in the UP position.
The Plunger should NOT be all the way out.  It needs to be retracted approx. 1/2 to 1 inch.
Same if the Door is in Lock & the Plunger is in the Down Position.  The Plunger should NOT be all the way Down.  It needs to be out approx 1/2 to 1 inch.

So, you need to adjust Rod or Mounting of Actuator to accomplish that.

after you adjust waht you need , take the wires of the locks and put one to 12 volt an dthe other to ground, the lock shold move in one direction, flip the wires and th elock will move in the other direction. if the locks dotn move then the locks are bad.

If you have 2 Wire Actuators ( Usually Green & Blue wires ) & NO Relay Box.....you wil need 2 SPDT Relays.
They will have to be wired as Reversal.

Relay 1

LOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a = GROUND
PIN 30 =  wire to Positive side of Actuators
PIN 85 = Negative Lock Output from Alarm & Switch
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

Relay 2

UNLOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a = GROUND
PIN 30 =  wire to Positive side of Actuators
PIN 85 = Negative UnLock Output from Alarm & Switch
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

10 Times I did it.......The 1st one was the Best

You definitely need relays as Joe Neal says, if they cannot reverse their polarities they will be useless!

ya that looks like a lotta good info. but not sure if  i can follow that. i think i know what the relays are. i dont know much about those pin #'s like 85 , 86 ,87... all i can tell u is the colors of the wires, might help. thers a white, brown, purple, green, blue, and the three pin connector that has 3 different colors blue green and red.appreciate the help so far. awesum

You probably should start from the beginning..........

You stated there is "white, brown, purple, green, blue" wires???
Are these on the Actuators or on something else?
Is the " 3pin" connector on the Actuators or something else?

goign to hook it up like this
door lock    Actuators / Reverse Polarity

is there any writing on back of the switch
aslo do u have a meter, if not switch wont be to ahd to figure out
