I am looking for some opinions on the Best 2 way remote starter available.  I am not concerned about fancy alarm features since the basic features are all I need.  I know there is nothing out there with all of the features I will list, but there should be.  I am only concerned about the starter features and the overall reliability and appearance of the transmitter.  I am looking for the longest range, at least one auxilliary output beyond the trunk release, all possible clock features (alarm, start time, count down timer, etc.) Temperature sensor for both monitoring and setting up for temperature start.  Two vehicle operation (I have yet to see one that can control 2 vehicles using the LCD 2 way transmitters for whatever reason, I mean isnt that the transmitter you would want to have this feature?)  I know it is impossible, but if the transmitter also had the proximity arm and disarm feature that would be nice.  I dont have a need for this right now, but they should make them capable of keeping memory seats and mirrors for two drivers if the vehicle is so equipped.  I also think that it should have what I have seen referred to as "True RPM Sense" where the unit engages the starter until the car is actually started (This feature is neccessary for some cars that have unique starters which dont follow a timed crank method when starting, like my car which actually requires about a .6 second crank time on the second crank if it is really cold and doesn't start on the first try.)  there should be latched relay outputs (programmable).  There should be a carburator mode.

I will stop there for now, but I think you get the idea.  Like I said above, I know there isn't a unit out there with all of this, but there should be.  What are some of the most reliable and longest range 2 ways you guys know of?

Thanks

Hey J.... I think the search for the Holy Grail and the Perfect Woman should be up on your list as wellposted_image I too would like a unit with all those features. Around where I live, car theft is not a high priority BUT the cold weather around here is. Customers would like the extended range & I would like all those features you listed as an installer, but sometimes it's hard to convince a customer to dish out $ 600 for a fuly installed 2 way system with alarm & remote start !!

I am in the works of getting a new model from our supplier and wil hopefully get our first sample from them after the CES show. I'll let you know when I get it installed into our shop vehicle.

Jeff, speaking of the quest for the hholy grail and the perfect woman, after I installed my first ever remote starter, It wasn't more than 2 days before i wanted my car to drive up and pick me up like in that Bond movie.  Anyway, the Marksman which is the same as the Commando's that I deal with seem to fit the bill more closely than any other out there right now.  The 554T seems to be very similar too, but most likely more expensive.  I only wish I was going to CES, Make sure everyone posts if they find that perfect woman, or something close.  Jeff what do you charge for putting 2 way units in?   Crime is not too big where I am from and cold weather is prominant just like you mentioned so I price them less if I dont have to hook up any alarm features, but I still must be charging too little.

I usually charge $ 600.00 ( CANADIAN ) for a full RS + alarm install. This includes taxes, keyless entry , bypass module, and installation. The Aladdin a-2000 is what I install and I have had good luck with them so far. Less than 1 % problems and the manufacturer covers for DIY'er install warranty claims !! Something alot of other companies do not do.

How much do you get the Marksman for ?? You can email me techsupport@velocitymotorsport.com if you do not want to post the price. Thanks

I love the Crimestopper 999FM unit.  Remote is slightly bulky, but range is great - see https://crimestoppersecurity.com

also there is the same remote used on the 2015 alarm / starter combo.  I have it in my van - very nice !
