how do i determine if i use normally or normally closed relay

In almost all cases the starter kill relay is normally closed.That is at rest.So you normally start the vehicle with the key.When the alarm goes off this relay opens the circuit which feeds the starter.The vehicle will not start by the key unless the alarm is dis-armed.
