Now that i've finished installing my remote starter in my van my cousin has asked me to install a dei 791vx into his 2000 cavalier. I have all the wiring diagrams. Im just wondering if there is anything special that i need (ie. diodes, resistors, relays). He has the bypass already. and so far i know im going to need to diodes for the door triggers.

Nothing too difficult. If the car did not come with factory keyless the locks will be 5 wire and mastered from the pass. side switch. Other than that, just diode your doors and thats about it.

At the BCM (  located to the left of the steering column above the kick panel. ) you will find a BLACK/ WHITE wire (+ ) trigger that will need to use a relay to reverse the polarity on in order for the Viper system to operate it. You can use this diagram for the polarity change.

posted_imageAt the bcm BLACK/ white pin a5 should be a violet plug. Its positive trigger at the bcm. You may have to wire up a relay to switch the remote starts trunks out put from negative to positve. I am not sure on the dei's stuff. I'll post a diagram in a min.

Pin 85 on the diagram XtremeJ posted would connect to the H1 RED / white channel 2 output.
