Can you install the viper 791xv without hooking up the remote start or the starter kill? I have a honda s2000 which is manual so I don't want to use the remote start and the s2000 comes with it's own immoblizer so i don't really want to deal with the starter kill function. Thanks for the help in advance.

Yes, you can. If you are purchasing the unit it may be a better solution to go with the viper 5000. Same setup as the 791 just without the remote start. Could save you a little money on something you dont want to use anyway.

Okay, over the weekend I installed a Viper 791xv in my 2003 Honda S2000. Now everything works fine except for two things. Let's start with what I hope is the easier of the two:

1) I hooked up the multiplexed zone trigger of the alarm to my trunk. In the wiring information on this site for my car, it says that the trunk pin is the blue/black wire in the 14pin gray plug behind the driver side kick panel. I hooked up the multiplexed zone trigger to this wire however, whenever I open the trunk while the alarm is armed, nothing happens. The alarm doesn't go off and I get no report. Where should I hook up the trigger so the alarm will go off when the trunk is opened?

2) the alarm does not lock or unlock my car! i searched and searched this site and didn't get the answer. I know my car's door locks are a 5 wire type(type c i guess). I know I'm supposed to use the dei 451M relay that comes with the alarm. Now the 451M relay has 5 wires coming out of it but I'm not sure where to hook them up:

here's the wires I am pretty sure about...
blue/black wire - unlock (in my car the YELLOW /GREEN wire for the driver's side and pink/blue wire for the passenger side)
GREEN/ black wire - lock (in my car, the pink/black wire from the key module)

i'm not sure about the following 3 wires...
PURPLE / black fused wire - 12V source or ground??
BROWN / black wire - ??????????
WHITE/ black wire - ??????????

Any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

Someone please help me figure this out. Everything works with the 791xv on my car except for the darn door locks. I figured out the reason the trunk trigger wasn't working. I just don't know how to wire the darn 451 relay up(which is basically two 5 wire relays. According to the wiring information for my car, I'm supposed to wire it like this:
PURPLE / black(fused) = lock/unlock normally #87 - fused 12V
GREEN/ black = lock output #30 - pink/black wire at key module
WHITE/ black = lock normally closed #87a - pink/black wire at key module
blue/black = unlock output #30 - YELLOW /GREEN wire & pink blue wires at key module
BROWN / black = unlock normally closed #87a - yellow green wire at key module

i used two diagrams from this site:

first i used the actuator/reverse polarity diagram because my roommate's co-worker who does the car alarm/stereo installs at best buy said that my car is this type:

Didn't work...kept blowing the keyless entry fuse at the fuse box

Next I used the 5 wire alternating 12V positive door locks diagram:

Still doesn't work. I keep blowing the fuse on the PURPLE / black wire.

Please help. I'm really starting to get frustrated as I am so close yet so far from being done with this install. Like I said, everything works but the darn door locks. I'm hopefully looking for someone to respond who's actually done this and knows exactly where i need to wire things up to. thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

How are you checking for 5 Wire Reversal?

Power Lock ...... pink/black
Power Unlock ...... YELLOW /GREEN and pink/blue

You will need 3 SPDT Relays ( Be sure they are Single Pole Double Throw Relays SPDT )

Cut LOCK  & UNLOCK Wire in Half.
One Half goes to SWITCH ( when you press door switch, you should have 12 volts on this wire )
One Half goes to ACTUATOR ( when you press door switch, you should have nothing on this wire )

Relay 1

LOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a =  wire from Door Lock Switch
PIN 30 =  wire to Actuator
PIN 85 = Negative Lock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

Relay 2

UNLOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a =  wire from Door UnLock Switch
PIN 30 =  wire to Actuator
PIN 85 = 1st Negative UnLock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

Relay 3

UNLOCK:
PIN 87 =  12 Volts ( + ) Constant
PIN 87a =  wire from Door UnLock Switch
PIN 30 =  wire to Actuator
PIN 85 = 2nd Negative UnLock Output from Alarm
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

I figured it out!! Damn it, had the wires switched around. the 5 wire alternating 12V positive door lock diagram is the one you should follow and not the reverse polarity diagram like the guy from best buy told my roommate(Good thing I just bought the alarm from them and didn't have them install it). You do not need 3 SPDT relays...just two or the DEI 451M door relay. I will responsd later with a diagram of how exactly to wire up the DEI 451M door relay for a 2003 Honda S2000 for anyone who decides they want to install this on their own.
