Hi, I plan on installing the Valet 561R Remote start/keyless entry system on a 1994 Honda Accord LX AT. Though I like to think of myself as the amateur mechanic (T-Belts/H2o pump, clutches, brakes, etc.)...I've never installed electronics on a car other than a plug and play head unit.

I have the wiring diagram and a Craftsman digital multimeter, is the Craftsman adequate?
What else is needed?
Is there a specific type/brand of wire strippers/cutters recommended?
What kind of connection do I use to join wires? Is soldering required?
Also, does a 1994 Accord require the DEI Bypass Module?

Any tips (besides take it to a pro posted_image) or info is appreciated.

Craftsman multimeter will do just fine

no specific type or brand of wire strippers just make sure they are sharp

always solder your connections and then tape, don't use T-Taps or anything else

no it doesn't need any bypass modules

Thanks for the info O5gt.

What is the best method to tap into a wire and make a connection?

Thanks, Twelvoltz. That did clear up how to not only make a connection, but a great one.
