I have a 1993 ford explorer. In it is a viper 550 esp alarm with remote start. is it possible to have the remote start without the alarm? i dont want the alarm. it automatically locks the doors and arms itself and i dont like that. i do like the remote start though and would like to keep that.

Wrong forum, dude, but if it's already installed, just have an installer disconnect what you don't want (siren, locks, valet, etc.).

You have the alarm function set to passive arming. You need to set it to active arming and you will not have these issues.

The other thing you can do is put it in valet mode.  That will disable the alarm but keep the r/s and keyless working.
