I had a Viper 1000 installed in my 98 Eclipse in the end of last summer and I'm having severe problems with it now.

Occasionally when disarming the system, the driver side door wouldn't unlock and I'd have to unlock it manually. Yesterday the driver's side door somehow wasn't fully closed and the interior lights were on for a few hours and I disarmed, closed the door, then armed it again.

Today when I went to get in the car, I disarmed it, opened the door, and then had the horn blare for the next 3-5 minutes as I could not stop the alarm from going off. I did this again and popped the hood and charged the battery just in case. Even with a full battery, the same thing happened later. Now just recently the driver side door isn't fully closed somehow (I'm 99% sure it was closed earlier) and the interior lights are back on. I'm not touching it again as I'm sick of the alarm going off and I'm sure everyone living near me is as well.

I'm going to try opening the passenger side door tomorrow and see if the same thing happens. I have no idea what the problem is, but I'm pretty much stuck since I am out at school and I can't mess with the car if the alarm is going to be continually going off and annoying everyone in the area. If I could at least get the horn disabled, I could mess around with stuff or just drive it since I think it will still start.

Any sort of information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

did you install it yourself or a shop? if a shop bring it back.

It was installed at a shop, which is now closed. I'm also at college and don't know of any local shops.

I did email the main branch of the shop that installed it however. They said it's probably the factory alarm since it's the horn going off. I'm going to try looking into disabling/fixing the factory one.

def. sounds like the factory alarm is going off. the 98 eclipse has a factory alarm disarm wire in the drivers kick panel. I am very suprised you didnt have this problem from day #.  Regardless, the installer should have hooked that wire up.
