This is my first alarm install so please bare with me. I have the alarm all installed except for starter disable. I have a 2001 Civic Ex. I have wired the relay as noted on the diagram found on here. 85 to orange wire on alarm. 86 to 12V constant . 87a to ignition switch and 30 to the starter. The car will not start. Please help. Thanks in advanced for any help. Isn't there two wires I am supposed to connect together?

Just to make sure, you cut the starter wire in half and ran the key side if the wire to 87a and the other end to 30?

Are there supposed to be 4 wires or 5 coming from the relay? In my setup 87 is not used. Is this correct?

One thing that I just noticed is that when I connect the 12V ignition wire to the relay as well as the organge wire from the alarm, the relay clicks. Shouldn't it only click when there is a ground going to the relay? The alarm is not armed so there should be no ground going to the orange wire correct? Could it be that for some reason there is a negative signal to the orange wire even when the alarm is not armed? Could this be my problem?

This ended up being my problem. My alarm was sending out a ground signal to the orange wire even when the alarm wasn't armed. Luckily I had another brain so I just plugged it in and now all is well now. Except for the fact that I have 1 alarm I have to send back to the manufacture.
