I would not recommend disabling the airbag system, some cars will trip a warning light if the car is started with the abs system disabled and cannot be reset unless you take it to the dealership. Just be very careful when under the dash, ONLY use a DMM for testing of circuits, and do not go poking into harnesses you are not sure of. You should be fine so long as you take your time. You can find wiring information for the 1999 HRV here.

I just posted in your other thread before I saw this one.Like Twelvoltz said, the airbag system does no need to be disabled before installing a alarm.Like I posted in the other thread.Test lights can leak ground into the circuit your testing....thats a bad thing. You should only use a DMM *Digital Multi-Meter*....and USUALLY airbag wires are marked w/ bright yellow loom or tape of some kind.Thats screaming," dont touch me"...My advice to you is leave the airbags alone!!!..get some good wiring information, a DMM, and take your time.If your still uncomfortable take it to a professional installer. That way you will have some sort of warranty on the install and YOU wouldnt be responsible for any damages if any occur. Good luck!
