You have a Passlock problem.  You wired something up wrong.  See if the security light starts flashing rapidly when you try to remote start it.  If it does then you have not installed or programmed the Passlock correctly.

I stopped using passlock bypass modules after having several of them periodically fail.  I now just use a relay and a trimpot and they never fail.  I had a hard time following how you set it up, but if all else fails just try it with a relay and a resistor.

I think I followed you...You do need to cut the yellow and run it through that bypass or its not really connecting during remote start. Why the 2 sets of instructions, who knows? But one wire does have to be cut and connected to the two appropriate wires on the unit.

On a happier note...I installed a PKF bypass from Tri-Logix into a 99 Ford Explorer today and it worked slick. First try. No additional transponder key required. Programming is very easy to understand.
