My Crime Guard 328i alarm system is not functioning properly. The siren is not funtioning. The lock/unlock feature of the alarm still works properly. Even if I purposely set off the alarm, the audio part of the alarm doesn't work. It does deactivate the ignition and the rest of the alarm functions. Does anyone have any troubleshooting suggestions?

Do the lights flash when you set off the alarm? If yes then the only thing not working is the siren?

The lights do flash when the alarm goes off... The siren is now making a little bit of noise, but is not healthy. Is there a way to buy a new siren?

You can purchase a siren seperate. I would find your local stereo shop I am sure they can help you out. Price wise they aren't to exspensive.

any 2 wire, 12 volt siren will work.  Before you replace it, I would check where the siren is gounded, the ground may have come loose, this would cause no sound or a very weak sound.

How can I check if the siren is grounded? Currently, it has four (maybe five) wires running into it... They all appear tight... The siren itself is loose in the engine compartment.
