Does anyone have experience interfacing the STI door locks with the Viper 791 or other DEI alarms? I know that the STI has negative pulse door locks, but I am having trouble getting mine to work properly with the remote. Does the STI use a five wire system? In any case, I am assuming that I will need to use relays to make this work. If anyone has gotten the remote door locks working properly, I would appreciate any help that you can offer.
By the way, I do have the stock alarm and I will want to disable this so that I can use just the Viper remote. I am sure I can just unhook and remove the Keyless entry module, but what else do I need to do to eliminate the need for the stock key fob and not have to worry about the stock alarm?
Again, thanks for any input that you can offer. I spent the better part of the weekend working on this install and I am pretty frustrated with the problems I have run into.
Door locks are basic negative trigger ( no relays required ). The wires are located at the gray plug at integrated module to the left of the steering column. The OEM alarm is only activated and deactivated via the factory FOB so just don't use it and it will not arm. Leave the OEM keyless/alarm CPU intact and plugged in seeing that it won't cause any problems if left in, but may cause problems if removed because the system may have an anti theft system built into the CPU along with the power door lcoks may also integrate into the unit.

You don't want to unplug the keyless entry module. I would suggest unplugging the factory alarm. They are two seperate units. I believe the OEM alarm is located in front of the parking brake on the 2004. If not, its behind the glove box....but I think they changed it to there in 2005.
You don't need relays to make the locks work.
I hope you are interfacing with the Neutral Sensing Wire in the car to prevent the car from remote starting in gear. PM me for details and provide an email address. I have owned a 2002 WRX, as well as a 2005 STi and I have a lot of experience working on them.
The door control modual is behind the glovebox and it is a neg triger to lock and same to unlock .
i have 1 and installed an alarm and it works fine
