About one year ago i installed a 791xv in my trailblazer. Winter went by without a hitch and the remote start worked awesome. Just last week though i have this problem. Remote start works fine just as usual but now when i insert the key and but the car into the ON position, then hit the brake the 791xv does not relenquish control to the car. The 791xv is still in remote start mode. This doesn't realyl cause a problem but before i do remember that when i put the car into on posistion and hit the brake you would hear a little beep and the relays switching to give the car control of the starter and power. If anyone has an idea to what is wrong with it pelase let me know. As i said before everything worked fine before. My car is a 2004 trailblazer.

Thanks Guys for any additional help

Sounds like the remote may not be receiving the signal from the brain.  Couple things to try.  disconnect the antenna for 5 minutes.  Reprogram the transmitter to the alarm.  Power down the brain for 30 min.   If that doesn't work then try getting a new remote programmed to the alarm.  Though the last option is quite expensive.

Check to make sure your brake lights are still working. Another posibilty is the brake wire connection you made came loose. Hopefully you soldered.

this happens alot of times, its just a program feature in the remote. Just reset the remote and it should beep/notify you now.

I would test the connection of the Viper's brake wire.

Also, as JWorm says, check that the car's factory brake lights still work.

It is a known issue that the circuit boards inside the taillamps of Trailblazers to fail----it's a common enough problem that the "HELP!" section in auto parts stores usually has a stock of replacement circuit boards.

Also you can turn off the paging feature on the remote to conserve battery life. Consult the manual on how to turn it back on.
