02 Ford superduty door trigger

I did a remote start(550esp) on a 02 ford f250 superduty a while ago.  When the ignition is turned off the dome light turns on automatically.  This is also causing the alarm to trigger when the remote start shuts down due to the dome light coming on.  The only way I have been able to fix this is to turn on the dome overide, but then what is the since in having the alarm with out a working door trigger.  I know it should be an easy fix, but I can't figure it out.(I used BLACK/ blue wire in drivers kick for door trigger)

dude, i had a similar hellish problem with my girl's subaru --

you've gotta wire your alarm's "door trigger" trigger wire (i know the grammer bad in that sentece, but basically the wire that you use to "set the alarm off" when the door(s) are opened) to the actual door triggers themselves... find the pin switches in the door jambs, then test for positive or negative trigger, and run a length of wire and tie them to the alarm trigger (relay may be required).

leave the dome light in "override" or "off" mode... then, do some dicking around with the dome light... when its in "override" find out if the 12 volt or the ground has been cut off -- they will only cut off one or the other, not both.. so then, after u figure that out, u can move to the next step -- lets say you figured it out to be that the ground is what's cut off from the light -- well, then you run a wire (18 gauge will do, no thinner if its a 5 amp lamp) to the dome light negative side... solder it to the connector or even the bulb if you have to... then, run that to a relay under the dash... next... wire the relay's trigger by hooking it to the "illumination" output of the alarm -- now the dome light will go on when the alarm tells it to (when u disarm the vehicle and such) -- also.... if you want to keep it so the dome goes on when u open the doors... tie those door triggers that i told you to just run, tie them to the illumination output of the alarm so that they too can tell the dome to go on (NOTE -- you may/will require another relay or two to be sure you have the same polarity signal from the ill output and the door trigger).

I did a 2003 Ford  F350 same problem with dome light. I told the customer to disarm alarm before turning the remote start off. then set the remote start for 60 minutes. I you really want to fix the dome light problen you can use a pulse timer relay isolate the door trigger wire sincew it comes on for about 39 seconds after remote starter turns off. set the pulse timer accordingly.Use the Blue wire (in the small white harness) and programmed for security re-arm. That should work. Since the door triggers in most New Fords rest at ground when the doors are closed there are no negative triggers, that's why you have to use the positive door trigger.

that  seems like a whole lotta work -- why not just find the trigger that is causing the dome to turn on when the remmy start / ignition turns off and cut it?

also -- on the flip side --- how can i MAKE the dome light of a vehicle go on for a limited time (30 - 45 seconds) after the ignition is turned off ???-- its ok if it does this even when the car is coming off a remote start since my alarm is triggered by hardwired door triggers instead of just tying it into the dome light.

isolate the door trigger wire for the amount of time the dome light stays on. there are no negative door triggers in the new ford trucks, a wire rest at gound and it shows 12volts when open.when the wire is cut it turs the domelight and it wakes up the gem module to operate doorlocks(if car is keyless entry equiepped)

p.s yes that,s a lot of work, that's why i didn't do it.
