Last week I had someone tried to break in my 04 denali.  I have an aftermarket alarm on it which saved it.  My problem, I have a pry mark under my door handle on the driver's side & trying to figure out if they are disabling the factory alarm through the door handle.  I had an 02 denali they did the same thing to the door handle ( which cost $600 to fix) that time it was in remote start and my neighbor saw them.  Do anyone know what the deal is on gmc door handle and factory alarm?

Thanks

what they usually do is open it with a flat head screw driver on the handle i dont think it has anithing to do with the alarm but im new at this so you might get a better opinion with someone else

They pop the door handle out to unlock the door at the keyswitch, that can disable the factory alarm but not the immobilizer(which happens to be a joke on older GM trucks). That is a fairly common way of breaking in to the trucks. Happens on dodges, gm trucks, and hondas.

ok, thanks for the response but maybe I should have asked are they disarming the factory alarm through the door handle?  It would be best to have an aftermarket alarm on because they can't disable it at the door handle, anybody knows??
