i have installed a couple of alarms but never put a scanner with one can anybody tell me how to hook up a scanner to an alarm

just ground the scanner to the starter kill. or if the alarm has it to the groung while armed wire.

some of these connection need a diode to isolate the scanner from the relay.  Take the wire from the brain and connect the scanner put those wires on the side with the strip and the wire to the relay on the other.  This will keep you from getting feedback causing the scanner not to operate properly.
